Our Concept
Teaching at the Fachschule is divided into modules, each of which is certiÂfied. It is also possible to select singular modules.
For full studies a total of 2400 periods (45 mins.) is taught in the followÂing subjects / modules, (the number of periods for each of which is given in brackets):
- communication in a foreign language (160)
- communication and working techniques (120)
- business management (160)
- pedagogics (120)
- documentation and evaluation of business data (80)
- analysis and application of means of designing (80)
- designing pieces and objects of jewellery (320)
- selecting and procuring gemstones (120)
- selecting precious metals and appropriate techÂniques of production (80)
- realization of aspects of designing in working preÂcious metals and gemstones (800)
- one optional module, e.g. the application of special historical techÂnologies (120)
Terms of Admission
For admission the following qualifications are needed:
- a sound knowledge of the German language
- a certificate of apprenticeship and two years' practical work in the trained profession
Since all the qualifications and certificates listed above can be acquired in Germany only, equivalent non-German qualificaÂtions, training or diploÂmas are recognized as well.
Certificates, Diplomas and Qualifications
- for each of the modules a certificate is issued
- having finished all modules successfully, the following title of occuÂpation is allowed to be used:
Staatlich geprüfte Gestalterin / Staatlich geprüfter Gestalter Fachrichtung Edelstein- und Schmuckgestaltung
Certified Designer in Gem- and Jewellery Design)
Examination for the Master's Diploma
Both in and parallel to the regular classes the students can preÂpare for the examination for the master's diploma, held by the Chamber of HandiÂcrafts.
Fees and Grants
There are no school fees but there are no scholarship funds eiÂther. So please apply for a scholarship in your home country.
